Steelcase celebrates its global sustainability performance with the release of its 2017 Corporate Sustainability Report. This year, the company made continued progress on its environmental 2020 goals, set a record for employee volunteerism and received recognition for its leadership and innovation in circular economy principles.

Steelcase partnered with Gerald R. Ford International Airport to design new business centers and work-life lounges for travelers. These new spaces are part of a larger $45 million renovation project, known as the Gateway Transformation project, that the Grand Rapids airport has been implementing throughout the year.

Steelcase has again been recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. The recognition came after Steelcase earned a perfect score of 100 percent on the annual Corporate Equality Index (CEI). Steelcase joins the ranks of 609 major U.S. businesses which also earned top marks on the 2018 report.

Steelcase was recognized today as one of the most community-minded companies in the nation as a part of the Civic 50, an initiative of Points of Light. Steelcase also earned the honor in 2016.

Judges honored Steelcase and its family of brands for new solutions that support people in the places where they work, learn and heal.

Jenny Niemann, president and CEO of Forward Space, an independent Steelcase dealership in Chicago, has been nominated for a seat on the Steelcase Inc. Board of Directors. Niemann previously worked at Steelcase in the areas of marketing, operations and channel development leadership.

Todd Kelsey, president and CEO of Plexus Corp, is joining Steelcase’s Board of Directors. Plexus provides design and development, manufacturing and aftermarket services to four key market sectors. Kelsey’s expertise in technology-driven business initiatives make him an exceptional addition to the Steelcase board.
